
Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur (CNN Philippines) – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 9 Office released P12.5 million for the rehabilitation of the water system in the town of Dumalinao.
Dumalinao Mayor Ace William Cerilles said on Wednesday (August 5) that the funds for the Bottom up Budget (BUB) water project was released by DILG Regional Director Paisal O. Abutazil on July 14.
Cerilles said the funds will be used for the expansion, upgrading, and rehabilitation of water system level-3 of barangays of Pag-asa, Paglaum, Sumadat, and Camanga.
Cerillas thanked Abutazil for the early release of the budget which would allow them to start the project immediately.
Abutazil also said that the P12.5 million budget is part of the P383.455 million budget under the DILG 2015 General Appropriations Act allocated in the Zamboanga Peninsula (Region 9) from the Grassroots Participatory Budgeting Process (GPBP).
The budget will be released in two tranches, the first tranche amounting to P10 million was released last week while the second tranche of P2.5 million will be released in September.
