Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — At least two were injured in a fire that gutted the iconic College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Association (CASAA) food center at University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City on Saturday morning (June 13).

The fire broke out at 9:45 a.m. and reached third alarm at 10:20 a.m. before it was put out seven minutes after.

The owner and chief cook of the food court, popularly and simply known among UP students as “Casaa,” sustained second degree burns.

The canteen complex, built in the mid-80s, had been cordoned off as a precautionary measure, given thatthe roof may collapse anytime.

Casaa, located along Fernandez Street, between Palma Hall and Benton Hall, was a staple in campus life and housed decades of memories for students and alumni alike — having been there for over 30 years.
