4 moderate quakes recorded off Davao Oriental coast

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) -– A series of four moderate quakes of tectonic origin struck off the coast of Davao Oriental on Friday (June 12), according to bulletins issued by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs recorded the quakes as follows:

magnitude 3.4 at 83 km northeast of Baganga at 2:30 a.m.

magnitude 4.4 at 94 km northeast of Baganga at 2:46 a.m.

magnitude 3.8 at  87 km northeast of Baganga at 4:54 a.m.

magnitutde 3.7 at 76 km northeast Baganga at 10:46 a.m.

The second quake, which was the strongest, was felt at Intensity 2 in Bislig City, it didn’t cause any damage.

Phivolcs said no aftershocks were expected.
