Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Philippine men’s basketball team beat Malaysia in easy fashion, 100-48, for their second consecutive win in the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore on Thursday (June 11).
Almond Vostros spearheaded the attack with 21 points on 8-of-15 shots.
Troy Rosario added 18 points and seven boards, while Marcus Douthit chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds.
The Gilas Cadets came out the gate with guns ablazing, racing off to an 11-point lead, 20-19, after the first quarter.
But it was in the second frame that they enabled them to widen the gap to 28 points at halftime after forcing the Malaysian to a ton of turnovers.
