Goodbye, Bruce: Hello, Caitlyn Jenner

Vanity Fair unveiled its latest cover girl, Caitlyn Jenner, on June 1.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Bid goodbye to Bruce and say hello to the beautiful and brave Caitlyn Jenner.

The big reveal happened on Monday (June 1) when magazine Vanity Fair tweeted its latest cover girl, starring the former Bruce, now named Caitlyn.

Dressed in a classic ivory-hued corset with her curls cascading her shoulders, Jenner gives her shy but confident smile on the cover. It has a single, but powerful blurb: “Call me Caitlyn.”

This is the first time she has spoken since her gender transition.

Photographed by world-renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz for the magazine’s July cover, the former Olympian talked to “Friday Night Lights” author Buzz Bissinger about her journey.

According to Vanity Fair’s post: “Jenner tells Bissinger: “If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life. You never dealt with yourself,’ and I don’t want that to happen.”

The 65-year-old Jenner has undergone a 10-hour facial-feminization surgery on March 15. Bissinger revealed that Jenner has not had genital surgery yet.
