Roads in 3 cities undergo weekend repairs

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority offered some alternate routes that motorists can use over the weekend.

(CNN Philippines) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will undertake road repairs this weekend affecting Caloocan, Pasig, and Quezon City.

The repairs will start at 10:00 p.m. on Friday (May 29) until 5:00 a.m. on Monday (June 1).

It will cover the following thoroughfares:

Quezon City

Northbound

Along Payatas Road from Visayas St. to Amlacville St. (1st lane)

Along Mindanao Avenue from Road 1 to Catleya St. (3rd lane)

Pasig City

Northbound

Along C-5 Road Pasig Blvd. from Dr. M. Flores St. to Sgt. Pascua St.

Along C-5 Road from Shell Gasoline Station to SM Warehouse going to Lanuza St. (Two outermost lanes)

Northbound and Southbound

Along C-5 Ortigas Flyover from Expansion Joint. No. 2 to Expansion Joint No. 4

Caloocan City

Northbound

Along EDSA from Concepcion St. to Evangelista St. (6th lane from sidewalk)

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) also offered motorists alternate routes they can take.

For the Mindanao Avenue road repair in Quezon City, MMDA advised to take the North Avenue or Tandang Sora Avenue to Congressional Avenue.

Motorists were also advised to take the C-5 E. Rodriguez while bridge expansion joints are being repaired at the C-5 Ortigas Flyover in Pasig City.

Only one lane will be passable at the thoroughfare, the MMDA added.
