(CNN Philippines) — American R&B artist Chris Brown is set to perform in Manila on July 21 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
It will be a part of his promotional tour for his sixth studio album entitled X, which was released last September 2014 by RCA Records.
The 26-year old Brown first gained worldwide attention with his first single “Run It!” reaching the US Billboard Hot 100, he became the first male lead artists since P. Diddy in 1997 to have his debut single conquer the chart.
Brown, a one-time Grammy winner, is responsible for the hit songs such as “Kiss Kiss,” “With You,” “Forever,” “Look At Me Now,” “Loyal,” and “New Flame.”
The controversial songwriter recently drew flak from Filipinos when he suddenly pulled out of a New Year’s Eve concert last year at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan hours before his scheduled show.
His reason for not showing up was that he lost his passport a day before the event and he subsequently failed to board a commercial flight bound to Manila.
He then apologized to his appalled followers on Twitter and asked them to stay tune for his upcoming show in the country.
Tickets for the “Chris Brown: Live in Manila” will go on sale starting on June 4 at all SM Tickets outlets.
