Pacquiao on running for Philippine presidency: “Wala sa isipan ko yan”

Asked about whether or not he has thought about running for the presidency, Manny Pacquiao remained coy about his political plans.

(CNN Philippines) — Following his loss to Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and successful shoulder surgery, Manny Pacquiao returned to Manila on Wednesday morning (May 13) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2.

Pacquiao, along with his family, flew in via flight PR103 and arrived at 3:45 am. Upon his arrival, the Sarangani Representative held a press conference at the airport and answered questions from the media.

One question the former boxing champion was asked several times was about his future plans now that he’s back in the country. Aside from recovering from his shoulder injury, Pacquiao says he’s fixated on continuing his work in Congress.

Pacquiao has served two terms in the lower house and can opt to run for the Senate next year. He admits, though, that his wife doesn’t want him to seek a higher position since it would take him away from his family a lot.

But asked if he has thought about running for president, Pacquiao remained coy about his political plans.

Alam niyo God’s plan is higher than our plan. ‘Di mo masasabi.”
