
(CNN Philippines) — Typhoon Dodong (international name: Noul) has started moving faster while keeping its strength on 9on the afternoon of Friday, according to a bulletin issued at 5:00 p.m. by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
PAGASA put its speed at 20 kph, up from its previous 17 kph, but still moving west-northest.
It was blowing sustained winds of 150 kph near the center with a gustiness of up t0 185 kph.
PAGASA estimated its rainfall to vary from heavy to intense within its 300-km diamers.
As of 4:00 p.m., its eye was located at 510 km east of Sorsogon City.
As of this posting, Catanduanes is under Storm Signal No. 2.

In 96 hours, by Tuesday afternoon: 810 km northeast of Basco, Batanes, outside of Philippine territory
