(CNN Philippines) — The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has announced that, due to injury, Alex White who is set to face Filipino Mark Eddiva will be replaced by Levan Makashvili at UFC Fight Night Manila: Edgar vs. Faber on May 16 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Eddiva’s new opponent, Makashvili, brings an almost perfect record to the table and has verbally agreed to terms for the fight.
Roger Zapanta, meanwhile, will be replaced by Dhiego Lima to face Li Jingliang.
Lima was on Team Edgar on The Ultimate Fighter 19, where he clocked up five wins via submission and three by knockout.
The UFC will build up their inaugural event in the Philippines with special activities leading up to the fight.
Open workouts will be held on May 13, 6PM at the MOA Music Hall, while a media day will take place on May 14 at 11:30AM.
The official weigh-in is set for May 15, 4:30PM at the Mall of Asia Arena, while the event itself will happen on May 16 at 4:30PM at the same venue.
