May-Pac untelevised bouts wrap-up

(CNN Philippines) — The hotly anticipated “Fight of the Century” kicked-off Sunday (May 3) with three untelevised fights in two different weight classes.

Four of the bouts’ six fighters shared one thing in common — they  came in with undefeated records and no draws.

Brad Solomon SD Adrian Granados (96-94, 94-96, 96-94)

It was a close fight between the undefeated Louisiana-native Brad Solomon and Illinois-born Mexican American Adrian Granados in their junior middleweight fight.

Although the 31-year old Solomon began the fight in a strong note, momentum slowly shifted to the 25-year old Granados during the latter half of the fight.

Both fighters managed to trade heavy shots. It looked like Granados had the match in the books as the fight played out, but Solomon managed to catch up with his accuracy.

Post-Fight Record:

Brad Solomon (25-0, 9 KOs)

Adrian Granados (13-4, 9 KOs)

Jesse Hart TKO6 Mike Jimenez

Philadelphia native Jesse Hart dominated Chicago native Mike Jimenez with a technical knockout in the sixth round of their super middleweight fight, subsequently keeping his undefeated streak alive.

The 25-year old Hart was in control of the match from the start, as Jimenez’s face started swelling in the fourth round.

The 27-year old Jimenez, who also entered the fight with an undefeated streak, stains his record with today’s loss.

Post-Fight Record:

Jesse Hart (17-0, 14 KOs)

Mike Jimenez (17-1, 11 KOs)

Christopher Pearson UD Said El Harrak (98-92, 99-91, 99-91)

Southpaw Christopher Pearson bested orthodox Said El Harrak through a unanimous decision by the judges in their junior middleweight bout.

The 24-year old undefeated Ohio native grabbed the victory from his 27-year old  Morrocan counterpart despite getting cut in the corner of his right eye, which seemed to be caused by a bump in heads.

Post Fight Record:

Christopher Pearson (12-0, 9 KOs)

Said El Harrak (12-3, 7 KOs)
