Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Star Wars fans all over the world stopped for a minute and 47 seconds when the second teaser trailer of the most-awaited saga The Force Awakens was released worldwide early Friday morning (April 17, Philippine time).
Aside from Luke Skywalker’s unmistakable voice, the burnt helmet of Darth Vader, and the adorable droid BB-8, the trailer ended in a massive way: Giving fans the first glimpse of Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford, and it is not without a spine-chilling and nostalgic quote.
“Chewie, we’re home,” Han Solo tells Chewbacca, his fiercely loyal sidekick.
The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams graced a Star Wars celebration event held in Anaheim, California on Thursday.
Abrams he was proud that “you can watch the movie and see what it is” before the effects wizards at Industrial Light and Magic did their work.
He also revealed that most of the movie was filmed on actual sets.
Also introduced in the event are the new Star Wars emoji and some new Stormtroopers.
While the force won’t officially awaken until December 2015, fans were still stoked upon the latest teaser trailer release. Fans were so pumped that Star Wars instantly made its way to Twitter’s top trending topics in the Philippines.
