(CNN Philippines) — Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina gets additional authority as the officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Philippine National Police (PNP). Espina can now approve and issue permits for the import and transport of weapons, ammunitions, and explosives. The National Police Commission (Napolcom) also gave Espina power over fund releases and disciplinary measures. This report aired over CNN Philippines’ Network News on April 8, 2015.
