
(CNN Philippines) — Unidentified persons kidnapped an Indian businessman in Davao City on Tuesday (April 7) possibly because of a personal grudge, Senior Insp. Milgrace Driz, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office, said on Wednesday,
The Indian, Jaspar Malih, had a recent dispute with someone, according to his wife.
Malih, a resident of Barangay Catalunan Pequeño, was last seen at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Barangay Ula, Tugbok District.
According to Driz, witnesses saw some persons pushing Malih inside a vehicle.
After that, she said, nobody could reach Malih through his mobile phone.
Meanwhile, the DCPO assured the security of thousands of Indians living in Davao City.
Driz pointed out that the police solved recent abductions within 24 hours with the help of CCTV cameras installed in several public places in the city.
