Cynthia Alexander to perform in Manila on April 17

Singer-songwriter Cynthia Alexander is set to perform in the Philippines on April 17.

(CNN Philippines) — Multi-talented Filipina artist Cynthia Alexander takes her distinct music back to local shores this month, less than three years after she decided to migrate to the U.S.

The Seattle-based singer posted on her official Facebook page Tuesday morning (April 7) that she would be returning to the Philippines for a few days to perform and invited fans to suggest songs she would include in her setlist.

Excited fans quickly heeded her request and suggestions soon came flowing.

Requests for her classics — which include “Comfort in Your Strangeness,” “Intertwyne,” and “Knowing There is Only Now” — populated the comments.

Alexander will perform with rock band Urbandub on April 17 at Whitespace in Makati for the Jack Daniel’s On Stage Philippines.

Fans who want to watch the event may call to make a reservation at (02) 631-0771.

The award-winning bass player reportedly migrated to the U.S. in 2012 due to the lack of support local artists get in the country.

But Alexander told CNN Philippines Wednesday (April 8) that her decision to leave was a personal choice.

Giving a peek into her setlist, she said “Motorbykle,” “Malaya,” and “Comfort in Your Strangeness” are already in the lineup.

She also told fans that she will let them know soon if she will be having other performances in Manila.

Before she left, Alexander held an intimate send-off concert with fans where she sang “Dumaan Ako” — written by the late poet Maningning Miclat — with her brother, ethnic folk rocker Joey Ayala.
