Authorities arrest 2 students in P5.3-M illegal drug haul in Pasig
Metro Manila, Philippines - Authorities have arrested two students found with around P5.3 million illegal drugs in Pasig City, the Eastern Police District (EPD) said.
Based on the police report dated May 20, authorities seized 792.44 grams of crystal methamphetamine, locally called shabu, in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.
The police called 18-year-old suspects, aliases Emma and Cristy, newly identified high-value individuals.
The suspects are facing complaints for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. They are under the custody of the Pasig police station.
“Ang aming mga programa at inisyatiba ay walang humpay na isinasagawa upang makamit ang aming ninanais na mapanatiling tahimik, ligtas at payapa ang bawat komunidad,” EPD officer in charge PBGen Aden Lagradante said in a statement.
[Translation: We are relentlessly conducting our programs and initiatives to achieve our goal of maintaining a quiet, safe, and peaceful community.]
“Hinihikayat ko ang kooperasyon ng bawat mamamayan at ang kanilang pakikipagtulungan sa kapulisan upang sugpuin ang kriminalidad,” he added.
[Translation: I urge the cooperation of residents with authorities to eradicate criminality.]
The confiscated evidence was submitted to the EPD Forensic Unit in Mandaluyong City for examination.
