Metro Manila, Philippines – Malacañang has refuted online reports claiming that First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos was detained by authorities in the United States.

"There is no truth that FL was held by any law enforcers while in LA or in any other place," Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said.

The Palace official confirmed that Marcos has been back in the Philippines since Monday.

During her trip to the US, the First Lady attended the Meeting of the Minds and the Manila International Film Festival in Miami, Florida, and Los Angeles, California, from March 5 to 8.

On her Instagram account, Marcos shared photos of her participation in a donation turnover event for the Girl Scouts of the Philippines in Manila.
