John Cabang withdraws from hurdles repechage race in Paris Olympics
Metro Manila, Philippines — Filipino hurdler John Cabang ended his Paris 2024 Olympics journey not on the way he wanted as he withdrew from the men's 110-meter hurdles repechage due to an injury he did not specify.
His race was set for Aug. 7 at the Stade de France.
“I am so sorry. I’m not gonna be able to run due to an injury. Thanks to all the people who supported me. Laban Pilipinas!” he wrote in his Instagram story.
Tolentino finished sixth with 13.66 seconds in the heats earlier.
Only seven Filipino athletes spread across three sports remain in medal contention in the Paris Olympics.
