Metro Manila, Philippines – Authorities have announced route adjustments on Wednesday morning after Typhoon Carina brought heavy flooding across the metro.

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said all buses are allowed to traverse the city capital’s busiest highway, Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), today.

“Naka-standby na rin ang mga sasakyan ng ahensiya para sa libreng sakay sa mga mai-stranded na commuters,” the MMDA said.

[Translation: Our vehicles are on standby to provide free rides for stranded commuters.]

The MMDA has also suspended the expanded number coding scheme on Wednesday. Makati also carried out a coding scheme suspension because of the typhoon.

Meanwhile, some toll plazas in the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) are temporarily closed because of floods. The following entry points are affected:

+ Marilao Southbound Entry

+ Meycauayan Southbound Entry

+ Lawang Bato Southbound Entry

+ Paso de Blas Southbound Entry

The Valenzuela northbound and southbound points, as well as the Meycauayan northbound entry are also not passable to all kinds of vehicles.
