Chelsea Manalo wins Best National Costume in Miss Universe 2024

Metro Manila, Philippines – Chelsea Manalo, the Philippine bet for Miss Universe 2024, bagged the Best National Costume award in the prestigious pageant held this month.

Miss Universe Philippines made the announcement on Saturday, Nov. 30, as they congratulated Manalo for her new achievement.

Manalo’s “hiraya” costume paid tribute to the country’s religious heritage, featuring a striking gold and blue gown adorned with symbols of devotion. She wore an intricate silver and gold headpiece and incorporated the image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in her gown’s train, reflecting her faith.

The costume was designed by renowned designer, Manny Halasan.

“Stand proud, Philippines,” Miss Universe Philippines wrote on social media.

The pageant organizer also congratulated all the artists behind Manalo’s award-winning costume.

The Philippine bet finished her Miss Universe bid at the Top 30. She was later declared as Miss Universe Asia, the first queen to take home the title.
