Metro Manila, Philippines — The trough of Tropical Storm Leon will pour rains over Catanduanes on Monday, Oct. 28, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Leon is expected to intensify into a severe tropical storm on Monday.

In its 24-hour weather forecast on Sunday, PAGASA said Catanduanes will experience overcast skies and scattered rains and thunderstorms.

The same weather condition will be felt over Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan but because of the southwesterly windflow.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may be triggered by the weather.

Meanwhile, coastal waters in the northern and eastern sections of the archipelago and the western seaboard of Luzon will be moderate to rough with waves reaching as high as four meters. The rest will have slight to moderate waves.
